Trading between gen 1 and 2
Can you trade between Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 games with two GBA sp or would you need GBC or GBA? Why can't I transfer Pokemon from Gen 1 and 2 VC to Alpha Sapphire via Pokemon Bank? Can I trade between a german Pokemon red and english Pokemon yellow, first Gen.? A third trading method, called Wonder Trade, is introduced this generation: When performing a Wonder Trade, the player selects one Pokémon from their collection and it is immediately traded with another player using Wonder Trade, with no further confirmation or any communication between players; what Pokémon the player receives in exchange for theirs is a complete surprise. No dash in the serial number. As mentioned the Gen 1 sights are super tiny. The Gen 2 are slightly taller but not as tall as the custom which has the red alum trigger. Gen 1 on the left Gen 2 on the right.

I remember back in the day that you could trade pokemon from Gen I to Gen II through the Time Capsule and a Gameboy Link Cable (ahh the days!) If you want to move Gen 1 or Gen 2 to Gen 3 and beyond, that's quite a bit more complicated, needing save editors and stuff to get the raw Pokémon's data. It's always said that trading Pokémon off of Generation 1 (Red/Blue/Yellow) and 2 A tutorial on trading up Pokémon off of Generation 1 and 2 cartridges and into the modern generations! Yes, you can trade from Generation 1 and 2 cartridges (not just Virtual Console) to more recent generations. However, it is not something that is officially supported by Nintendo. The website Atop the Fourth Wall posted a how-to video showing that it was absolutely possible to go from Generation 1 and 2 cartridge all the way to Generation 6, the latest as of the video's creation.
1. Understand the process. You normally cannot trade Pokémon between the two Generations of games. You can transfer 2. Remove any items your Generation IV Pokémon may be holding. Any items that You can trade with any first gen games though and Silver and Crystal. 0 1 convert Pokemon from Gen 1 to 2 or 3, Gen 2 to 1 or 3 or even Gen 3 to 2 or 1.
